• 1. Britain's Oliver Hart and Finland's Bengt Holmstroem were awarded with the 2016 Nobel Prize in Economics for their work on 'contract theory’.  ब्रिटेन के ओलिवर हार्ट और फिनलैंड के बेंट हॉमस्ट्रॉम को इनकी 'कॉन्ट्रैक्ट थियोरी' के लिए अर्थशास्त्र में 2016 के नोबेल पुरस्कार सम्मानित किया गया है।  2. Chinese President Xi Jinping has appointed Luo Zhaohui as China's new ambassador to India.  चीन के राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग ने लुओ झाओहुई को भारत में चीन का नया राजदूत नियुक्त किया। 

• 3. Indian Badminton player, Ruthvika Shivani Gadde won the women's singles title at the Russian Open Grand Prix, beating Russia's Evgeniya Kosetskaya.  रूस ओपन ग्रां प्री बैडमिंटन टूर्नामेंट में भारतीय बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी रूत्विका शिवानी गाडे ने महिला सिंगल्‍स का खिताब जीत लिया है। फाइनल में रूत्विका ने रूस की ईव गेनिया कोसेत्‍सकाया को हराया। 

• 4. Indian shooter Jitu Rai has been awarded the 'Champion of Champions' title for pistol shooting in 2016, by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).  अंतरराष्ट्रीय निशानेबाजी खेल महासंघ (आईएसएसएफ) ने भारतीय निशानेबाज जीतू राय को 2016 में पिस्टल शूटिंग के लिए 'चैंपियन ऑफ चैंपियंस' की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया।

•  5. Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Vizag Steel has roped in badminton champion and Rio silver medallist P V Sindhu as its brand ambassador.  रियो ओलंपिक में रजत पदक जीतने वाली बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी पी. वी. सिंधू को राष्ट्रीय इस्पात निगम लिमिटेड की कारपोरेट इकाई विजाग स्टील ने अपना ब्रांड एंबेसडर बनाया।

•  6. Ace sprinter Srabani Nanda has been selected for the 24th Ekalavya Award 2016 for her outstanding performance in sports.  फर्राटा धाविका श्रावणी नंदा को खेलों में शानदार प्रदर्शन के लिए वर्ष 2016 में 24वें एकलव्य पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया। 

• 7. According to Forbes 'The Richest People In America 2016 list’, five Indian-Americans are among the richest in the US- Symphony Technology founder Romesh Wadhwani, co-founder of outsourcing firm Syntel Bharat Neerja Desai, Airline veteran Rakesh Gangwal, entrepreneur John Kapoor and Silicon Valley angel investor Kavitark Ram Shriram. This list has been topped by Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates.  फोर्ब्स की 'अमेरिका में सबसे धनी हस्तियों की सूची-2016' में पांच भारतीय-अमेरिकी शामिल हैं - सिंफनी टेक्नोलोजी के संस्थान रमेश वाधवानी, आउटसोर्सिंग फर्म सिनटेल के सह संस्थापक भरत नीरज देसाई, विमानन क्षेत्र के राकेश गंगवाल, उद्यमी जॉन कपूर व सिलिकन वैली निवेशक कवितर्क राम श्रीराम। माइ्रकोसाफ्ट के सह संस्थापक बिल गेट्स इस सूची में पहले स्थान पर हैं। 

• 8. Boxing Hall of Famer Aaron Pryor died. He was 60.  मुक्केबाजी हाल आफ फेम में शामिल आरोन प्रियोर का निधन हो गया। वह 60 वर्ष के थे। 

• 9. Andy Murray won the 2016 China Open Men's Singles title in Beijing, China.  एंडी मरे ने बीजिंग, चीन में 2016 चीन ओपन पुरुष एकल का खिताब जीता। 

• 10. Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska defeated Johanna Konta to win the 2016 China Open Women's Singles title.  पोलैंड की खिलाड़ी एग्निएज्का रादवांस्का ने जोहाना कोंटा को हराकर चाइना ओपन का महिला एकल ख़िताब जीता।
